7 THINGS I’M DOING THIS WEEK

as we prepare for Black Friday Cyber Monday

 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹

1️⃣. ADDING BLACK FRIDAY LANGUAGE TO EXISTING, WINNING AD COPY. NOT replacing ad copy entirely. Lead with the offer – but make sure your ad copy actually says something descriptive, too. 

2️⃣. MAKING ADS THAT BREAK BRAND GUIDELINES. This is a CROWDED time, as you know. If your branding doesn’t have a vibrant colorway, add it. It’s a special occasion. Make the same ad – 1 using your on brand colors. 1 using punchier colors. Battle them out. 

3️⃣. MAKING ADS THAT ARE IN DARK MODE. Black Friday = use the color black. I’m not saying make all of your ads dark mode. I’m saying make some of your ads dark mode. VARIETY LEADS TO EFFICIENCY! 

4️⃣. NOT SAYING BFCM. BFCM is an industry term. Your customers know what Black Friday is. They know what Cyber Monday is (mostly lol). They do not know BFCM. Be clear! 

5️⃣. COPYING THIS IDEA: 

6️⃣. ASKING MY TEAM TO REST. It’s November 15th. Meaning BFCM hasn’t even really started. I’m already tired. We’ve been working late all month, we’ve been working weekends. We have to do that, sometimes. But on a Wednesday, the week before the biggest week of our year, we do not need to tucker ourselves out. 

I’m calling for pencils down. I don’t want to hear from my team tonight. I want them to go to dinner.  

7️⃣. I’M LOGGING EVERY BFCM LAUNCH DATE (AND LAUNCH ASSET) OF EVERY COMPETITOR FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY BRANDS. The swipe file overflowth. Your future self will thank you!
