Swipe File – Ad Creatives

The best brands copy each other. Why be original when you can take the original and make it better!

And, extra credit for taking ad creatives inspiration from outside of your specific niche. If you’re a skincare brand, copy skincare but also haircare but also your favorite fashion brand but also your favorite olive oil brand. 

At all times, you need to be running statics, and video, and gifs, and a lot of them! 
BECAUSE WE NEED A MEDIA MIX. WE NEED TO TEST. BUT ULTIMATELY, WE NEED A COMBO OF THUMB-STOPPING CREATIVE. 

Recent additions to my ad swipe file for you to copy, too: 

STATICS 👒

💿: Static carousels for UGC work because you can show a variety of people and a variety of products, without controlling the pace of consumption. By that I mean, your customer can flip through the looks when they’re ready to move on to the next image – which can’t be said about a GIF or a VIDEO.

This static carousel by Loverboy shows the 2 well-known  founders 1st (smart), then calls in other people of other looks and styles to show off the rest of the collection. Do this. 

P.S. In one of the ad accounts I manage, the founder being present in the hook brings our 1st frame retention up past 90%. I measure this all in Motion. 

🍸: Simple, easy text-overlay that shows 2 products solving a problem by themselves. Buy these 2 things and you’ll be set! Is your bundle creative this clear? Could you try this? I could do this and I’m bad at graphic design – so I believe in you! 

🌘: Do you sell a product that can and should be used day and night? Is your creative capturing both vibes? These 2 separate statics by Hiyo are entirely different, but sell the exact same product. Day and night! If your creatives right now all feel like night (dark mode), I need day from you pronto!!! And vice versa etc etc so on and so forth. 

Try both and measure if dark mode or light mode performs better for you. Then make more of both and test again.

🌊: ASSOULINE pushing this Byron Bay new release with a 1 cut take of someone flipping through the book and therefore showing us everything we need to know about the product is perfect. Sometimes, no overlay, no fancy animations, and no tricks just lets your product shine.

When is the last time you published an ad this simple? Try? 

📼: Video green screen / mini-mic TikTok style content (but for Meta) featuring the founder by Love Wellness. Whether or not your founder is well known… PUT THEM IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA AND HAVE THEM EXPLAIN THE BRAND TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.

If for some reason your founder won’t or shouldn’t lol, then pick a Marketer on your team and pass them the mic. No excuses. Put a face to the brand. Try this!
