Is it just me, or has gen AI gotten wildly good?
By Tracey Wallace
ChatGPT came out when I was on my first maternity leave––and then matured faster than my baby has since then, I swear. It felt like it took me a while to get a hang of generative AI as a result. But these days, I’m using it to build outlines for content that ground my team in our strategic narrative, audience pain points, and strategic guidance using our products.
All of that in under 2 minutes. It’s wild.
All of the chatter on LinkedIn from content marketing folks about the new era of content marketing being focused on knowing your ICP really, really well feels right.
Because when I feed AI my team’s strategic narrative, specific product use case documentation, information about my audience and their pain points, and then ask it to use that information to outline a specific piece of content––well, its output is pretty phenomenal.
It isn’t perfect, but it is a whole heck of a lot better than having no starting point.
Here is the general prompt I’m giving it:
Build me an outline for an article about [topic] that ties into the attached [strategic narrative document] and offers actionable next steps for readers using the attached [product use case documentation]. Make sure the outline is compelling to our target audience, which you can find more information on in the attached [persona document]. Highlight key pain points for this audience and recommend helpful solutions.
That’s it. Nothing special. From there, we take that outline, edit it with an editorial overlay, run it by our product marketing team, and find partners or customers to interview to help bring the piece even more to life.
By the time the piece is finished, it looks almost nothing like the original outline. It’s far better. And we were far faster producing it, too.
I’m curious, how are you using AI these days? Have you built it into any workflows? Are you seeing success with it?
Happy December, everyone!
