Hey Marketing Bestie,
Most media plans start the same way: Meta, Google, then a fight over whatever budget is left.
Last year at Marketingland, Stefani O'Sullivan (Staud, formerly Savage X Fenty) told us about a founder who skipped Meta and Google entirely.
When Avocado Mattress launched, its founder didn't run performance marketing for the 1st couple of years. It was all out-of-home and upper funnel. He wanted his brand sitting next to big brands, not living and dying by the ad cycle.
Most media plans wouldn't survive that strategy.
But there are 400 channels now. "Meta and Google" isn't a strategy anymore. It's a starting point.
So we built a new Land for it. It's called Medialand.
It's designed for people are in charge of channel planning. People with strong opinions about CTV. Brand-side or agency, B2B or B2C.
Medialand is part of Marketingland Festival: a 100% free, 100% virtual Marketing festival (not a virtual event thank you), happening March 4.
We're tossing out the systems that don't work anymore and installing the updates you need for 2027:
📡 Where attention is going: CTV, streaming, audio, creators, short-form
📡 Creators and podcasts as real media channels, not side bets
📡 Paid, owned, and earned working as 1 machine
We're announcing the 1st Medialand speakers soon (maybe you??). Ann Handley is headlining, and Jay Schwedelson is co-hosting with Daniel.
Last year, 8,500 Marketers signed up.
Can you come?
