To take the market, and to win on Cyber in parallel, perhaps a full-court press is in order? Bonjour Millionaire,

I am known for liking nice things. I will not apologize for that. I did, however, try to go car shopping yesterday for a car that I don't really want but that would be good for me if that makes sense.

The experience was unbelievably bad. To the point that my husband, who started the day excited that I was coming around to his grand plan, started to turn green.

There was 1 car on the showroom floor. 4 different families were within in. The guy in the driver's seat was teaching us all about the car.

He did not work there.

What happened to the days where you'd walk in and they'd offer you still or sparkling? Does that only now apply to shopping for RTW? This is surely more serious. Would demand fine water. Or, to play devil's advocate, any water at all. Plastic is fine.

There was no water. I was thirsty, but mostly on principle.

Needless to say, we left empty handed. Daniel is still green. I am feeling less practical by the minute I'll tell you that.

Was this email forwarded to you?

What holiday shoppers are doing RIGHT NOW:
1. Holiday shopping EARLIER. Almost half start before Halloween.
2. Spending less than, by ~$100.
3. Watching their favorite shows on Paramount (Catching up on Dutton Ranch for me, but perhaps counting down to Tulsa King S4?)
4. Being influenced by TV holiday ads more than any other channel (Paramount viewers are 82% more likely to buy after seeing 1)

Grab Paramount's free 2026 CTV Guide and adjust your Q4, with:
🏈: A visual calendar of premieres, sports, holidays, and shopping peaks
🎨: Creative best practices for the big screen
🧮: Step-by-step planning from strategy to launch

Plan it, right now. So December-you gets to binge watch like a civilian.

NOTES FROM OCTOBER

Sent by my NYC friends because they know I belong in the city

  1. This is my 1st cyber in 2 years running both DTC and Amazon in parallel and I honestly can't fucking wait. Must be BIG. Obviously, whether you're at the helm of 1 channel or every channel, your customer is not only shopping 1 channel this season. Nor, on that specific day (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, you get it).

How we spend up into these events is actually decided in October because new customer reach must grow dramatically right now. What are you doing to ensure that volume and that your exclusions are working?

And, as you know, the way to win on DTC is not to hold back another channel. The way to win on Amazon is to take the best seller badge as early as physically possible and for as long as possible. Amazon rewards offline traffic. DTC has every lever in premium experience.
Now you understand how much work there is to do and how to run this race. Or, at least I hope you do. Every day this month should be spent improving the gifting experience on DTC. Every day this month should be spent in grabbing subscribers and in getting everyone ready for the BEST CASE SCENARIO so that you'll be able to handle more volume.

Not to mention, I already planned by Cyber 2027 offer. We are not without ideas!! But, much to prove. Much to make! Urgent!

  2. Daniel launched Marketingland 2027. It's really, really good. Weezer isn't going, but if Weezer was going, I might not tell you. Proud wife. Thousands of people have already registered and I hope Daniel doesn't get nervous. But, then I remember that he's a professional and 1 year we interviewed Pookie and Jett at Marketingland for fun lol.

CRISPIEST FALL CREATIVE

Notice this is not a holiday release. It's an evergreen product styled with orange. That is on purpose! That is easy. That is inexpensive.

Don't come for me but is Khaite not also screaming October and Halloween?

Simon Pearce wants us to remind us it's Fall in Vermont. The way every October I want to shop Simon Pearce more than almost. I NEED to go there. I'll bring the baby. You're never too young for your 1st glass tree.

WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOURDS

I like this copy and it's obvious but I didn't think of it and neither did you. PITHY. You need something tight to launch Bella Hadid to store. This is great to me. Also a great example of not requiring or making rules around a specific amount of copy or words or lines needed for specific site and email and caption placements.

Exactly as long as it needs to be. That's my only rule. Please file that.

WEEK #41/T-MINUS ‘TIL THE FEAST

~47 days to Black Friday. That's like 60ish days til shipping cut off.

My time this week was spent ensuring that I have a really strong plan for December. Because shipping cut off is so depressing and what if we didn't accept it and instead moved the mountain? By that I mean, what if we actually directed our customer to where they could still shop, instead of hoping they'd find a way.

I'm ready to do everything differently this year. To meet my customer where they are. I just need to plan it perfectly and it's only 60 days away so we are hustling.

Someone on my team thought of the most genius December idea that we are going to do. We cheered when she said it. It was something I've never heard of. What about you? You guys talking about December?? Hope so!!

Sponsored by AfterShip

Black Friday has a terrifying sequel. It's called January.
Starring: every return you didn't plan for.

Instead: AfterShip Returns automates the ENTIRE return.
And I mean entire, from eligibility to labels & routing, even nudging shoppers toward exchanges instead of just defaulting to a refund.

Marc Nolan 2xed exchanges and saved $125K in 90 days. Fellow boosted revenue recapture by 20%! It's also favored by Mejuri, Away, & other giants.

Get it running before the BFCM boxes come back. 🔁

IN MY WHEELBARROW

I really want the Skin Pharm advent calendar. I get it every year but this year you can tell they are going for BLOOD. Watch how they move on this launch. It's excellent. A brand worth rooting for. I can say that because my friends own it and my friends work there and I just love how they all raise the bar YoY.

THE WEEK IN A MEME

GOODBYE MILLIONAIRE GOURDGEOUS

Me (regarding car shopping): That did not go well.

Daniel: No, it did not.

Me: I'm in a bad mood.

Daniel: I understand.

Yours,
Ari
