FRANCHISE OF THE WEEK Window GenieFast FactsBackground HQ: Irving, Texas Founded in 1994 in Cincinnati, Ohio; franchising since 1998 Window Genie offers window cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, window tinting, and holiday lighting for residential and light commercial customers, an executive-ownership model where owners manage crews rather than doing the work themselves
Location Trends Franchise Fees Royalty: 6–7% of gross sales Brand Fund: 2% of gross sales Franchise Fee: $40,000–$62,500, scaling with territory size
Financial Overview The below table discloses information on Window Genie's franchised locations that were open and operating for the full 2024 calendar year. The Wolf's TakeWindows and gutters aren't going away, and Window Genie’s multi-service model means a franchisee isn't just betting on one seasonal job. A franchise fee in the $40,000–$62,500 range with a 6-7% sliding royalty is reasonable for a home services concept, and the sliding scale rewarding higher volume is a nice touch you don't see everywhere. 30 years in business and 100+ locations across 30+ states tells you the model has staying power, without relying on being flashy. The Neighborly backing adds some nice infrastructure and shared marketing as a franchisor that's run this playbook many times before. I'd want the current Item 19 numbers in front of me before calling the economics a slam dunk, since the estimates I found don't agree with each other. But the fundamentals here are about as low-drama as this category gets. Resources
SMB TWEET OF THE WEEK Childhood Interests - artfuIchaosThis tweet from artfuIchaos had me thinking about all the hobbies I enjoy today that can be traced back to anything I did as a child. It’s also a great reminder that keeping your inner child alive is the best way to maintain the curiosity and creativity needed to sustain a franchise.
