Hey Marketing Bestie,

Tough season for Lando fans but that won’t stop me from watching in matching outfits every race with my son. Need to make sure he is ready for Monaco 2040 with me.

Was this email forwarded to you?

MOST of the steps between "good idea" & "go live" aren't creative work.
I worked in Marketing Ops, so I lived this.

Briefs. Handoffs. To-dos. QA. Approvals. So many approvals. Reporting. Repeat.
Without this stuff, the wheels fall off. It's mandatory. But it's also probably NOT why you got into Marketing.

If your really deep creative & strategic work always takes a backseat to checking process boxes, you should learn about Gradial.

Agents handle the operational execution, specifically for Marketers.
AWS already uses it as a whole Marketing Ops control tower.
Find out what "less process, more creativity" looks like in practice.

5 Claude features you should know

Claude isn't just a chat window. It's a five-piece toolkit.

Chat, Artifacts, Skills, Cowork, and the specialist apps. Each 1 built for a completely different marketing problem.

Let's get into it.

1️⃣. Chat

What it's for: Fast, conversational, in-the-moment thinking. Brainstorms, first drafts, "does this headline work," strategy sanity checks.

How your marketing team should use it:

  • Campaign brainstorms before the brief even exists

  • Rewriting copy in brand voice (looking at you, this exact conversation 👀)

  • Quick competitive research, messaging angles, subject line testing

  • The "I have 15 minutes before this meeting, help me think" tool

How I think about it: Treat Chat like a whiteboard session with your smartest coworker. Raw thinking lives here, not finished work.

2️⃣. Artifacts

What it's for: Anything that needs to be SEEN, not just read. Landing page mockups, interactive calculators, dashboards, one-pagers, internal tools.

How your marketing team should use it:

  • Spin up a lead-scoring calculator for the sales team in an afternoon

  • Build an interactive campaign brief with live inputs instead of a static doc

  • Prototype a landing page concept before it goes to design, saving a round trip

  • Turn a data export into an actual visual report

How I think about it: If you've ever said "I wish I could just SHOW them what I mean," that's an Artifacts moment.

3️⃣. Skills

What it's for: Teaching Claude how YOUR team does things, so output matches your brand and process by default.

How your marketing team should use it:

  • A brand voice skill (like the 1 running this exact response)

  • A campaign brief template skill so every brief follows the same structure

  • A docx/pptx formatting skill so reports come out looking like YOUR reports

  • Skills for repeatable workflows: newsletter production, social calendar building, report generation

How I think about it: Build the guidelines once. Reuse them forever. This is operational leverage.

4️⃣. Cowork

What it's for: Multi-step, multi-file, "go do this whole project" work. Research, synthesis, drafting, and file creation, chained together.

How your marketing team should use it:

  • Hand off a full competitive audit: research, synthesize, build the deck

  • Monthly reporting: pull data, build the analysis, format the deck, done

  • Content repurposing at scale: one webinar transcript into a blog post, social posts, and an email

  • Reclaim the hours your Marketing Ops team spends on copy-paste reporting

How I think about it: Give it the full task, walk away, come back to reviewable work. Delegate, don't babysit.

5️⃣. The Specialist Apps

What it's for: Claude showing up inside the tools you already use: Excel, PowerPoint, Chrome, instead of exporting and importing everything back and forth.

How your marketing team should use it:

  • Claude for Excel: campaign performance models, budget pacing, attribution cleanup

  • Claude for PowerPoint: turning a rough outline into a formatted deck without the copy-paste dance

  • Claude for Chrome: research and competitive audits that browse live sites for you

How I think about it:The AI lives where you already work. Less exporting back and forth.

How to Actually Roll This Out to Your Marketing Team

Instead:

  1. Start with 1 Skill. Brand voice or brief template. Get it locked, get people using it in Chat.

  2. Find your Cowork champion. 1 person drowning in repetitive reporting work. Prove the ROI loudly.

  3. Let Artifacts sell themselves. Build 1 interactive thing in a meeting live. Let people ask how you did that.

  4. Layer in the specialist apps once the habit is already forming.

Match the right mode to the right problem.

Chat for thinking. Artifacts for showing. Skills for consistency. Cowork for delegating. Apps for embedding.

That's an operating system for your marketing team.
