Got to catch up with my friend and developer that I worked with over many years. Made my week. Bonded for life from the trenches of 3am launches and Sunday night theme changes and everything in between.
If you're not best friends with your devs I highly recommend. I've learned so many tricks.
Saw a brand do something insanely smart today. They are a celebrity brand. So they are running ads from their celebrity's whitelisted handle.
That's not new or creative.
But, alongside the whitelisted ads from their celebrity's handle, they are running ads from Facebook pages they created that include their celebrity's name but are specific.
Example of the Facebook Page name: Ari Murray's Springtime Favorites
That page served me an ad that had the celebrity's face in it. In a springtime setting. With the product of course.
!!!!!! Feels like NOBODY DOES THIS. They have many of these pages running.
Makeup By Mario: I know I say I'm anti-trend but this 1 is sweet. My friend works here and so I saw it on her stories. It's nice to see the team and to see a brand see the team, if that tracks.
Makeup By Mario didn't invent the trend and they didn't hop on incredibly quickly (my usual rule) but my friend got her moment on the grid and I like them a little more than I already did (I'm a customer).
WEBSITE OF THE WEEK:
Polène: HERO HOMEPAGE PRODUCT CARD! What a way to do motion but seriously sell. I was unfamiliar with their game but I'll pay attention from here on out.
P.S. The opacity is very well done. The video doesn't compete with the card but the card also doesn't compete with the video. I told you, GAME.
MEME OF THE WEEK:
AU REVOIR
TGIF! <33333
Love you,
Ari
