I was talking to someone who brought up my major (They stalked my linkedin).
That they were surprised I majored in Religion. I get it. Doesn't really seem like the path that would lead here. But, if I hadn't majored in Religion I wouldn't have gone to law school.
If I hadn't gone to law school, I wouldn't have realized how much I hated law school and wouldn't have thrown myself into whatever came next to avoid going back. I threw myself into that ecommerce customer service role with my entire soul as to avoid the bar LOL.
Maybe it would have been nice to have studied econ or math or psychology or marketing. Maybe actually it wouldn't have helped me at all because I learned to write, to understand history, and I learned how to learn.
I know what I like and I think I know how to analyze why I like it. That's helpful in my current path and informs my work.
I'll get in trouble for this, but please don't blindly trust your reps at TikTok, Meta, Google, AppLovin, Pinterest - wherever. They will often somehow advise you to spend more of your budget within their platform. Take what you can from these meetings, but remember that the house is telling you about the house. And, the house always wins. ♣️
Selfridges: Because in looking for sneakers I couldn't find them on the US site at 1st glance. Because in the Selfridges world, sneakers are called trainers. That's obviously the correct choice and IMO an American (me) shopping on Selfridges wants to feel posh too soon? and European and is happy to stumble as they look for their trainers in the mega nav.
