Are there funnier jokes out there?
Maybe to you, but maybe not to me. That's the whole point! IT'S SUBJECTIVE. The April Fool's joke that goes live is the joke that the marketing team thought up, giggled at, then got approved. And, like beauty, humor is in the eye of the beholder.
My rules for April Fool's Day:
π§ββοΈ: If it feels too risky, don't do it.
π§ββοΈ: If there's a funnier version that is too risky, DON'T DO IT.
π§ββοΈ: If you can't think up anything that your team is proud of, DON'T DO IT. Sit out. It's so fine! This isn't BFCM! No sweat.
π§ββοΈ: No dunking on any other brands that had a go at it. I have seen 1 too many marketers I love shitting on brands that had "mediocre" April Fool's Day jokes. As in, they took the time to screenshot the brand's posts, and say how lame they were.
Okay, so you do it! Mr. or Ms. FunnyFun! I'd love to see it. Until then, I'll be giggling in the corner enjoying. xoxo βοΈ πΊ
