Stash Launches Crypto via Grayscale

By

Stash, a personal finance app with more than 6 million users, said Thursday that Bitcoin and Ethereum exposures are now part of its fully managed account called Smart Portfolio. This is the first crypto launch from Stash.

Stash now offers Smart Portfolio holders to invest in cryptocurrency through funds by Grayscale, the world’s largest digital currency asset manager. Grayscale manages more than $44 billion in digital currency assets and holds about 3.5% of all Bitcoin in circulation.

Smart Portfolio will feature investments in:

  1. The Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which offers exposure to Bitcoin.
  2. The Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE), which offers exposure to Ethereum.

Smart Portfolio, launched in March 2021, is the fintech’s fastest-growing product to date with nearly 400,000 accounts opened in the past 10 months and 60% of those customers make regular, automated investments, said Stash’s CEO and co-founder, Brandon Krieg in a statement.

To get more of the tea, I sat down with Elizabeth Marchetti, Director of Investment Strategy at Stash. She worked super close with the team to get the crypto offering off and running – so she’s got the answers. Tune in to the exclusive interview now.
