Grassroots Marketing

One of the toughest things about running a service business is simply staying busy with work. Advertising is a great way to get customers but can be costly... especially if you're just starting out and don't have much money coming in yet.

One of the most cost effective ways to find customers is through the use of grassroots marketing. Grassroots marketing isn't really any one thing, it's a series of techniques you can use to reach customers in a number of ways, including, but not limited to:

  • Going to events (chamber of commerce, local community, etc)
  • Networking with other service professionals and asking for referrals
  • Door-to-door and phone sales
  • Engaging with potential customers on social media
  • Local Radio and TV interviews and exposure
  • Writing content and sharing via a website, blog, or social media
